SALOMON KALOU: LILLE CAREER EXAMINED

Ivorian forward Salomon Kaloujoined Lille from Premier League heavyweights Chelsea on a free transfer in July 2012. His last act as a Chelsea player was winning the Champions League via the penalty shootout success at the expense of host team Bayern Munich.

Salomon Kalou became a free agent in the summer of 2012 after his Chelsea contract ended. The Ivorian attacker became a Lille player afterwards and he was handed the number 8 jersey. New Lille manager Rudi Garcia confirmed that it was not easy to convince that the French club is team to take his career to the next level. It was not easy to convince Kalou to join him at Lille according to the former AS Roma tactician.

KALOU REACTS TO OMAR REKIK’S FIRST INSTAGRAM POST AS ARSENAL PLAYER

Arsenal have finally landed their target in person of Omar Rekik after the London club were linked with the player for the entirety of last summer with a move failing to materialize. Since making his move to Arsenal, Rekik has gone on to make his first Instagram post as a player of the North-London club and it has aroused the attention of former Chelsea player Salomon Kalou.


Rekik is still only 19 and having joined Arsenal for just £500,000, he has been tipped to show his potential at his new club and show signs of why they came back for him after failing to land his signature in the summer. He joined Arsenal from German Bundesliga outfit Bertha Berlin and is moving to Arsenal on the back of recent stunning performances for Hertha’s youth setup. SALOMON KALOU IS NOW A GRADUATE

 

Botafogo forward Salomon Kalou can be referred to as a graduate after the Ivorian international player bagged a University degree. The 35-year-old is gradually preparing for life at the end of his football career. Salomon Kalouhas secured a degree for himself at an institution in France.


He bagged a Business Administration (BA) degree at the prestigious Lyon business school in Lyon, France. Salomon Kalou was quick to praise his late father after he achieved success in his quest to bag a University degree. He confirmed his status as a graduate some months ago.

Salomon Kalou Joined the Brazil Club to Have Farewell

 

Every player poses a dream about the last days of their career. The striker of the Ivory Coast, Salomon Kalou also has decided to play for the Brazil club Botafogo before he says goodbye to football. For this, he left Hertha Berlin of Germany and has appeared in Brazil to play the last few games of his career. The former Chelsea skipper is going to celebrate his 35th birthday in August and is very eager to play on Brazilian soil.


According to him, the passions for football among the Brazilians are really awesome and you will get such an atmosphere in very few countries. His previous club Hertha Berlin suspended him as he broke the rules regarding social distancing and a video of that incident went viral on social media. Thus he decided not to return to the club as he played there for almost 6 years. The Brazilian club has made a contract with him till the end of 2021.

Emery wanted Arsenal to sign Zaha

Unai Emery has revealed that he had the preference of signing Wilfried Zaha ahead of Nicolas Pepe when he was the Arsenal manager. The north London side were heavily linked with Zaha’s signature during the 2019 summer transfer window but ultimately, they opted to sign Nicolas Pepe in a club-record deal from Lille.

Pepe has not been consistent in his debut season in the Premier League but he has still impressed in stages and has bagged four goals and six assists from 24 appearances. Speaking to Goal.com, Emery revealed that Zaha was his preferred target to strengthen the squad, given his vast experience playing in the Premier League. AJAX ACE REJECTED BARCELONA MOVE IN JANUARY

Ajax attacker Dusan Tadic was a subject of transfer from Barcelona during the winter transfer window. Barcelona were said to be keen on taking the player to Camp Nou on loan till the end of the season, as cover for the injured Luiz Suarez.

According to De Telegraaf chief, Valentijn Driessen, he said the 31-year-old Serbia international wanted the move as he knew that will probably be his last and only chance to represent the Camp Nou giants, he also stated he doesn’t expect Barcelona to make a follow-up move for the player in the summer.

Serbia May Reach the Top 16: Southgate

Gareth Southgate is the manager of the England football team. He believes that there won’t be much difference between the qualifying teams. The curious case of Christian Pulisic has dominated the news as the well sought after forward has been relegated to a bit-part role since making his big-money move from Dortmund. Former Chelsea player Salomon Kalou has stated that Chelsea needs to replace Eden Hazard if they want to challenge for trophies next season. He said that Hazard is a world-class player and that it will be difficult for Chelsea to find a like for like replacement for the Belgium international.

He said that not only they will have to replace their best player they will also need to find a new manager after the departure of Sarri.

Salomon Kalou said that it is important that an appointment is made as quickly as possible so that the manager can have enough time to build a team to compete in the Premier League. The former Chelsea player that Chelsea runs the risk of falling behind teams such as Tottenham Hotspurs, Manchester United and even Arsenal if they do not invest in new players.

He believes that at the moment there is not a single player that can replace Eden Hazard and that they will have to use this money wisely in order to strengthen the team.
